ceterion Deployment Framework 2607: Recurring Schedules, More Robust Agents, and a Multilingual Management Console

The ceterion Deployment Framework 2607 is now available—featuring recurring deployment schedules, a hardened installation agent, and a multilingual management console, which also has a new name starting with this version.

Greater predictability. Greater resilience. Greater convenience—in the Agent and Management Console.

Highlights

Recurring Scheduling – Deployments According to Schedule

Deployments can now be scheduled on a recurring basis—either directly in the Management Console or via the REST API.

  • Repeat "Once," "Daily," "Weekly," or "Monthly"—including frequency, days of the week, and an optional repeat every X minutes for a specified duration
  • New, expanded dialog box when running an object
  • API: api/run-object with the new parameters Schedule, Recurrence, Frequency, Weekdays, RepeatEvery and RepeatFor
  • Can be enabled or disabled globally in the settings

Hardened Installation Agent – stable, even when the backend isn't

The agent is now significantly more resilient to backend outages and lost network connections.

  • Critical REST API calls are repeated every 15 seconds until the service is available again
  • Calls of minor importance—primarily reporting—do not block the process, but instead log the error and continue running
  • The agent automatically applies updated service intervals (Config Check, Sequence Check, Software Inventory) during operation
  • After a service startup, the agent ignores the configured sequence interval once—to enable fast installation sequences during reboots, even with slow polling

"Remember this view" – Personal Views in the Content Tab

Every user can now save their view by folder—just click the pin icon.

  • The following are saved: folder/subfolder view, status filter, entries per page, search term and parameters, and sort order
  • New Status Filters: Infrastructure objects can be filtered by installation status
  • Up to 1,000 entries per page

Management Console – Multilingual and With a New Name

Starting with version 2607, the Web Console is now called the Management Console—and is available in multiple languages.

  • Language selection in the top menu bar
  • German translation now available

Further improvements

  • Jobs and script sets can no longer be assigned while a run is in progress or scheduled—via the API using Force = $true overridable
  • Fixed GUID handling when copying jobs, script sets, and scripts
  • The search in the left-hand tree menu now works reliably even with 10,000 or more items
  • Improved file selection, numbered object copies (-Copy, -Copy-2, …), and other UI fixes
  • The permission field in "Encrypted Strings" is no longer case-sensitive
  • Agent: Corrected the process of writing script sets and jobs back to the local registry; HTTP 204 is accepted as a valid response

With version 2607, day-to-day operations become more predictable and resilient—recurring deployments, an agent that can handle outages, and a management console that remembers its users' views.
