ceterion Deployment Framework 2604: Advanced Reports, API Security, and Design Options

The ceterion Deployment Framework 2604 is now available—featuring enhancements to the Web Console and REST API, including new reporting capabilities, improved security mechanisms, and flexible design customization options.

Greater transparency. Greater control. Greater flexibility in the Web Console and REST API.

Highlights

New Reports Feature

Version 2604 introduces a new reporting concept that significantly improves the object-specific display and structured presentation of reports.

  • HTML reports are automatically displayed in the new "Reports" tab
  • File naming convention: [Objectname]_[Reportname].html
  • HTML content is automatically sanitized before being displayed (XSS protection)

New API feature: post-report

With the new API endpoint, reports can be sent directly to objects and saved.

  • Endpoint: api/post-report (POST)
  • Submission of HTML reports for filing with the respective property
  • Content is automatically sanitized before being saved

Parameters

  • Name – Target
  • ReportName – in accordance with the naming convention
  • ReportHtml – HTML content of the report

Enhanced API security for computer accounts

API access has been specifically expanded and secured.

  • Computer accounts can now be restricted on a per-object basis
  • Access is restricted to defined endpoints
  • Prerequisite: appropriate permissions via AD groups

Permitted endpoints include:

  • assign-object
  • edit-object / edit-installsequence
  • get-object / get-objectstatus
  • post-report
  • update-installsequence

In addition, the distinction between computer accounts and gMSA has been improved.

Custom UI designs (client-specific)

A new feature is the ability to flexibly define client-specific design customizations and apply them to different user or group contexts.

  • Configuration via appsettings.json
  • Support for AD users and groups
  • Custom CSS files and titles are available for each client
  • If no match is found, the default design will be used

Further improvements

  • Stability and pipeline optimizations
  • Streamlining internal release processes
  • Ongoing development of the API structure

With version 2604, the ceterion Deployment Framework continues to evolve—toward greater transparency, enhanced security, and flexible customization.
